Yes, these errors can occur and there have been many such cases reported. It is certainly your responsibility to make sure that your account details are kept as correct and accurate as possible. In fact, your bank will probably view a soft inquiry positively because it indicates that you give your account due importance. The second thing you can do is undergo a credit counseling program that lets you in on how to avoid debts that couldn’t be repaid. Lenders would usually reject outright those who are in this type of program or charge them higher interest rates. But as far as credit score evaluators are concerned, it doesn’t hold water at all. While the inevitable first impression of someone being assisted through a debt may not be so favorable, the rating system has proven that those undergoing such a program didn’t neglect their obligations any more than the others who weren’t. E-Book Readers – Predicting The Future

It looks like electronic book readers – such as the Amazon Kindle reader or the Sony Daily Edition reader - could be one of the hottest gifts this year. Analysts will be watching closely to see if these devices achieve iPod status in the near future.

Falling prices and an ever increasing library of digital books to read on the devices are driving demand for these readers ever higher. The Amazon store alone has in excess of 300,000 books for the Kindle and Sony has partnered with Google to make the search engine giant’s huge library of public domain electronic books available to users of the Sony reader series.

Just at the moment, the devices appeal primarily to book lovers. However, many industry experts regard them as no more than the forerunner to future mobile devices which will have significantly enhanced functionality. Future generations of these readers are expected to have the video capability and to allow users to surf the internet whilst out and about.

Analysts are watching the sales volume of readers carefully. The sales volume will be used to predict future demand for anticipated multimedia tablet PCs, which Apple and other manufacturers are thought to be working on. Such devices could alter the marketplace once again.

ISuppli predicts that global sales of e-book readers will top 5 million units in 2009. In 2008, around 1 million devices were sold worldwide. It has been estimated that it costs Amazon around 6 to produce – which leaves them with a good profit. However, the market is getting more competitive every day. Sony has been introducing new models and iRex will also be releasing a new reader imminently. Asus, the company which revolutionised the notebook market is also reported to be planning a reader launch, possibly as early as late 2009.

So, Christmas sales figures will be closely scrutinised and we might expect to see the first wave of personal electronic tablet PCs in 2010 – assuming good e-book reader sales (which seems like a safe bet).
